The History Channel held an event in NYC for the People Speak show that they are about to launch. 

THE PEOPLE SPEAK gives voice to those who spoke up for social change throughout U.S. history, forging a nation from the bottom up with their insistence on equality and justice. Narrated by Howard Zinn and based on his best-selling books, A People’s History of the United States and Voices of a People’s History, THE PEOPLE SPEAK illustrates the relevance of these passionate historical moments to our society today and reminds us never to take liberty for granted.

I think that this show is very necessary some people involved are Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman, Josh Brolin, Bruce Springsteen, Kerry Washington, and more.  Check out the few pics we have from the event:

I can’t help but look at the stuff going on in the world and shake my damn head.   This story is truly sad and it basically shows that we as a community need to stand up and protect our own against ignorance.  First, I read about a father shooting his child due to molesting his little sister and now this.  Sorry but to much nonsense going in the world right now.  I am starting to believe this 2012 BS.  Please check out this story:

A 15-year-old girl was caught in the middle of a Bronx shootout while walking home from school yesterday — and was fighting for her life early today after taking a bullet to the head.

Vada Vasquez was chatting with a friend at around 3:45 p.m. on the corner of Home Street and Prospect Avenue, just steps from their high school, Bronx Latin, when gunfire erupted between two groups of men.

Vada, struck by a stray bullet, was in critical condition at Lincoln Hospital.

A 19-year-old man who cops said was the intended target was hit in the abdomen and leg; he, too, was in critical condition.

Okay, stop, hold the applause!  The December issue of Essence names the 25 most influential African Americans this should be very interesting!  I am trying to understand why Steve Harvey is getting the cover? I guess we will see!  I am holding all of the negativity to myself but I must say that this picture is photoshopped like hell but his wife is very beautiful!  But she better be careful because he might Jay-Z her azz and be “on to the next one”!  Sorry just had to say it!  But seriously Essence most influential and Steve on the cover do not mix please step your game up it’s almost 2010!

This is another post that has me sratching my head and saying yes the world is definitely coming to an end.  According to Eyewitness News in Connecticut: 

Howard Stewart, 50, is accused of intentionally setting fire to his second-floor Market Street apartment after dousing his girlfriend and her 12-year-old daughter with a flammable liquid.

Police said the 12-year-old woke up when she felt the liquid being dumped on her at about 8 p.m. She started to run while Stewart was flicking lit matches at her. The girl ran down the back stairs but police said Stewart grabbed her from behind and dragged her back upstairs and poured more liquid on her.

“She was screaming, ‘Help me, Somebody’s trying to kill me and the baby,’” said neighbor John Marcella.

Police said the 12-year-old was able to rescue her 3-month-old sister when she ran out of the house the second time.

Police said Stewart’s girlfriend suffered second- and third-degree burns and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital’s Burn Unit. The girlfriend, identified as Christina Lee, remained in critical condition Monday morning. “She was screaming, ‘Help me, Somebody’s trying to kill me and the baby,’” said neighbor John Marcella.

When I first read this story I thought this is such BS (honestly, I think it still is)!  Before I go into my rant as usual I wont you guys to take a look at this and tell me what you think.  Here goes:

A man killed his wife after mistaking her for an intruder in his sleep.

Brian Thomas, who suffers from a sleep disorder, has admitted killing his wife Christine in their camper van during a bad dream.

Swansea Crown court heard that the mother-of-two died after the couple stopped for the night at a car park in west Wales in July last year.

Their sleep was disturbed by youths gathered there in their cars, revving their engines and screeching tyres.

Thomas, who is pleading not guilty due to insanity, then decided to move the van to another park.

He called police at 3.49am, saying he had killed his wife.

He revealed he had been dreaming that he was fighting with the boy racers who had disturbed the couple; he thought he had put one of them in a headlock, but when he woke up he realised it was Christine.

Sleep experts who assessed the accused said he had killed his wife while in the midst of a sleep disorder and that his behaviour had been involuntary.

*Side Eye* Sorry don’t believe this for one second.  I find it extremely hard for you to strangle someone in your sleep.  You had to be really on something other than a dream to do this type of ish!  But anyway!  Did the wife not wake up and try to fight back?  Sorry but something is just not right with this story.  Moving on!

Well we should all know by now that 50 cent has an opinon on everything.  In a recent interview 50 was asked if he watched the MTV VMA’s especially the scene with Kanye 50 responded with: “I Wish He Would Come Take One Of My Awards So I Can Black His Eye”.  LMAO!  This is getting to crazy for me.  Check out the video:

In other news Kanye apologized again last night on the Jay Leno show. I think it’s pretty fuked up to ask about his mother and how she would feel but hey that’s entertainment for you. Kanye was da*n near in tears. Check out the video:

I believe that Kanye was truly sincere in his apology (Hey that’s what that brown liquor does, I’ve been there done that).  Overal1, they had a really good performance.  Love it!

Okay, so I did not think Sheree from the RHOA was still serious about her clothing line but I guess she was.  She took the opprotunity to make her premiere of her fashion line at the Mercedes Benz Spring 2010 Fashion Week.  Umm (clears throat) I saw a two pieces that I like but umm, how could she hate on lisa when they are basically in the same boat paddling together?!?!?!  This is really going to give this bish the big head.  None the less I will give you the pics and let you be the judge:

Well since everybody and there mama are talking about the MTV VMA’s I decided to give yall a break (yeah I said yall)!

Tyler Perry and Oprah have teamed up for a new movie titled “Precious” which is about a girl who is struggling with the abuse in her home and teenage pregnancy. The movie is based on the book “Push” by Sapphire. This movie stars Mariah Carey, Mary J., Monique, and Paula Patton. Looks like it will definitely win an Oscar and with Oprah in the tagline somebody will (or better) win an Academy Award (just saying). Check out the trailor and let me know what you think:
